Do I need a CRM to use GivingSignal?
No. GivingSignal is built to work standalone. Upload your donor CSV, get propensity scores, and generate campaign-ready lists — all without a CRM. If you use a CRM, GivingSignal complements it. If you don't, you don't need one.
What does a donor file need to include?
At minimum: donor name, email, and giving history (dates and amounts). The more complete your data — phone, address, gift type, campaign source — the more accurate your propensity scores. GivingSignal handles common data quality issues automatically.
Is my donor data private?
Yes. Your donor data stays in Canada, encrypted at rest and in transit. GivingSignal never sells, shares, or uses your data for any purpose other than generating your scores. See our privacy policy for the full commitment.
Is GivingSignal CASL-compliant?
GivingSignal flags every donor's CASL consent status based on your upload. It doesn't give legal advice — that's between you and your legal team — but it makes consent visible so you can make compliant decisions before you send.
Our donor data is messy. Will GivingSignal still work?
Yes. Messy data is normal. GivingSignal's matching engine is built to handle incomplete records, duplicate names, and inconsistent formatting. The more data you have, the better the scores — but you don't need perfect data to start.
